Hidden Plain Sight Our Youth

Hidden Plain Sight Our Youth

God uses us at all ages. Though some do not come to know him until later in life, there are others who feel the burning desire to know Him from adolescence. The Bible is filled with young, faithful believers who stepped out, despite their age, into a grand adventure with God. The Lord used them, not because of their age, but because of their hearts. To know Him from an early age is to spend your life walking with him, learning from Him, and getting to know Him. A relationship like that will never get old.

Let’s ponder on theses verses:

Ezekiel 16:60 Yet I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.

1 Timothy 4:12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity

Ecclesiastes 12:1  Remember your Creator  in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come  and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”

2 Timothy 2:22 Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Jeremiah 1:7-9  But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord

Proverbs 22:6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Psalm 71:5  For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth

Jesus said that the kingdom of heaven belonged to the children. He knew that their faith was strong, because their hearts had not yet been damaged by a fallen world. The gift that young people most beautifully bring to the table, is that they have a view of the world that is open and receptive. That is exactly the way Jesus wants our hearts to be. Open to following His plans for our lives, and receptive to His presence and unending love. Living this way ensures that we all remain young at heart. May your relationship with Him always be youthful.
